Solivar Kulturne Aktivity_KU.A

Už odjakživa je Prešov spájaný s výrobou soli. Jedna jeho mestská
časť sa dokonca volá Solivar, čo samozrejme nie je náhoda. Súčasťou
komplexu výrobných budov soli v Solivare je aj obďaleč posadená odparovacia
stanica, Nový Solivar na Košickej ulici.
Prešov bol po istý čas najdôležitejšou výrobňou soli na celom Slovensku.
A toto je jedna z najvýznamnejších technických i kultúrnych
pamiatok v celej republike. Je absolútnou hanbou, že tento úžasný objekt
je teraz BÚRANÝ! Keď toto nie je pravou IDENTITOU Prešovčanov,
tak čo? Prečo dopustíme, aby bola zničená pred našimi nevšímavými
zrakmi? Tu by určite malo fungovať prinajmenšom centrum kultúrnych
aktivít, nie obchodný dom.
V budovách starej varne vznikli priestory s novou defi níciou, exteriérový
a interiérový výstavný priestor určený pre umelecké expozície
a výstavy. Galéria ponúka možnosť reprezentovať najrôznejšie formy
vizuálneho prejavu od malieb, sôch, fotografi í, ilustrácií až po architektúru
a dizajn. Okrem expozícii a výstav ponúka kultúrno-vzdelávacie
aktivity.

Prešov has been famous for salt production for years. Even, one of the
city wards is called Solivar (“Saltworks”), which of course is not a coincidence.
The complex of the Saltworks´ production buildings is complemented
also by an evaporating station situated a certain distance
away, the New Saltworks on Košická street.
For a certain period of time Prešov used to have the most important
(I think the only one) salt factory in Slovakia. And this is one of the
most remarkable technical as well as cultural monuments of the whole
country. It is a shame that this magnifi cent construction is to be
demolished! If this is not considered to be part of the true IDENTITY
of Prešov residents, then what is? Why do we just obliviously ignore
the destruction of this building? This should be a centre for cultural
activities, not a department store…
The former boilery buildings offera newly defi ned space – an exterior
and interior exhibition area intended for art expositions and exhibitions.
The gallery offers an opportunity for showing various types of
visual art such as paintings, sculptures, illustrations, photographs or
architecture and design. Besides expositions and exhibitions, cultural
and educational activities can also take place there.
